HOT Commercial Space in Leblon

Although available real estate in the luxurious Leblon bairro in Rio de Janeiro is practically unheard of, I've just got word of an exclusive commercial property for sale.  If you are familiar with Rio, you know this listing won't last long!  The desirable location combined with the lack of available space for new construction make Leblon one of the city's most sought-after locales.

Your business space will be situated in a bustling area where you can be pampered with an endless menu of services available to you without ever leaving the comfort of your office. Those with discriminating tastes who want nothing but the best will appreciate Leblon's pristine beach, designer and local artisan shopping, nightlife and fine dining. With convenient proximity to famous historic sites and entertainment, you'll never be at a loss for things to do at lunch, or after hours.

Time Saving Tips for Typing Portuguese on Your Computer

If you are planning to travel, live or invest in Brazil, you may find yourself needing to communicate in Brazilian Portuguese by typing a letter, sending an email or submitting web forms. This may be quite time consuming if you are using a laptop or keyboard from the U.S. because there are several characters in Brazilian Portuguese you won't find in the English language, or on your keyboard:
ã á â à ç é ê í õ ó ô ú ã ü

Without using these characters, your reader is likely to know what you are trying to say by the context of your message most of the time, but it's imperfect nonetheless. For example, if you write voce instead of você, your reader will know you mean to say the word "you" but it would be like writing something in English using "i" instead of "I".

If you want to write in Brazilian Portuguese, it's going to be very important that you utilize these characters since they will often change a word's meaning. (Also, as you are learning to speak Brazilian Portuguese, being able to recognize these characters and how they sound will help you tremendously with pronunciation when you are reading) For example: país means "country" but pais means "parents".

Spot Your Luggage Easily at Baggage Claim With a Stand-Out Bag

Thankfully, it's never happened to me, but I've heard horror stories from friends and family that have lost baggage on a trip. Having a bag that is basic black or blue increases the chances that someone may pick it up by mistake. For me, I prefer a statement piece of luggage, like the one by Kenneth Cole pictured above. Meu marido on the other hand, prefers something a little less flashy.

I visited a site today called Village Luggage and Gifts that includes free monogramming on all luggage orders. What better way to be sure you (and others) know which basic black bag is yours than with your initials or name?

Business travelers will like the tweed collection by Hartman Luggage. If you've seen the pricey Tumi Luggage often sold at the airports, you'll notice a savings on this site. Briggs and Riley Luggage is great for those who want a sturdy bag in a basic color--there's a huge variety. If you're a fashionista, no need to worry, there are designer brands too.

Shipping your set won't set you back--orders over $100 ship free.

LowFares.com Simplifies Search for Airfare Deals

Making travel arrangements on a budget can be time-consuming and cheap flights to Brazil are rare, but I found a really cool site to help streamline the process. I searched for flights to Brazil today using LowFares.com. It helps you compare and find cheap airline tickets, hotel and car rental prices quickly by allowing you to search some of the most popular travel websites with a single push of a button.

To find the lowest fare, just go to LowFares.com and enter your destination and travel dates, then select up to three sites you'd like to compare and click "Compare All." You can choose whether to see the sites listed side-by-side, or in three separate windows--in seconds.

Using the LowFares.com Airfare Search, I compared Travelocity, Orbitz and Kayak and found the lowest priced round-trip airline tickets from Cleveland to Rio de Janeiro for under $700--in less than a minue on Kayak. Then, you can go straight through the booking process and be ticketed in just a few moments. Now that you're ready to fly, be sure to read about what you should pack for your trip and get your tourist visa.

Get low fare updates by email, and subscribe to the Lowfares.com blog for budget travel tips, information and airline ticket deals.
